How do I prepare 0.01m of EDTA?

Cross-dressing  Follow

let consider in term of molarity. Generally we use disodium salt of EDTA due to its good solubility.

So molecular weight of Na2EDTA.2H2O is 372.24 g/mol

Prepare 0.01M EDTA in 250ml water

1M of Na2EDTA.2H2O in 1000ml = 372.24 g/mol

0.01M of Na2EDTA.2H2O in 250 ml = X

On Cross multiplying we get,

X = (372.24 * 0.01 * 250)/(1 * 1000) = 0.9306 g

Preparation of 0.01 M EDTA Solution: Dissolve 3.723 g of disodium EDTA in water and dilute to 1 liter in a volumetric flask with distilled deionized water. Store the solution in a polyethylene bottle. If tetrasodium EDTA is used you should use appropriate amount to make 0.01 M EDTA.
