Kaschin-Beck disease
Kaschin-Beck disease is a local osteoarthritis and a deforming osteoarthritis characterized by cartilage necrosis. It often occurs in children and adolescents, mainly affecting the bones and joint systems of children and adolescents, leading to endochondral bone formation disorders, shortening of tubular bones and secondary deforming joint diseases. It causes development disorders of tubular long bones, thickening of joints, pain, muscle relaxation, atrophy and movement disorders. Patients are characterized by short stature, short fingers, joint deformities, abnormal gait (typical limping, duck gait), etc. This disease is also known as dwarf disease and abacus disease.
