Methimazole
Indication: It is used for various types of hyperthyroidism, including Graves' disease (with autoimmune dysfunction, diffuse thyroid enlargement, and exophthalmos), thyroid adenoma, nodular goiter, and thyroid cancer. In Graves' disease, it is especially suitable for: 1. Patients with mild to moderate thyroid enlargement; 2. Adolescents, children, and elderly patients; 3. Patients with recurrence after thyroid surgery who are not suitable for treatment with radioactive iodine-131; 4. Preparation before surgery; 5. As an adjuvant treatment for iodine-131 radiotherapy.
