Taeniasis solium
Taeniasis solium is an intestinal tapeworm disease caused by the adult Taenia solium parasitizing in the human small intestine. It is also called pork tapeworm disease and chain tapeworm disease. Its morphology and life history have many similarities with Taenia solium, but there are also some important differences (Table 1). Among them, humans are both the final host and the intermediate host in the life history of Taenia solium. When the adult Taenia solium parasitizes in the human intestine, it is intestinal Taenia solium disease, and when its larvae parasitize in human subcutaneous tissue, muscle, brain and other tissues and organs, it is cysticercosis (cysticercosis). Cysticercosis is one of the important parasitic diseases of humans. Taenia solium is widely distributed throughout the world, mainly prevalent in Europe, some countries in China and the United States, and India. There are scattered cases in 22 provinces and regions in my country. Patients are mainly young and middle-aged people, more in rural areas than in cities.
