Vulvar pain
Vulvodynia is a chronic vulvar discomfort characterized by burning, stinging, tenderness or irritation. Although people with this group of symptoms are currently collectively referred to as vulvodynia regardless of their cause, it is generally believed that vulvodynia refers only to those with unknown causes. Vulvodynia without obvious infection or organic lesions is called vulvar pain syndrome (VPS), including vulvar vestibulitis (VV), circumflex vulvitis, and paresthesia vulvodynia.
