Bulimia Nervosa
This disease is a periodic onset of uncontrollable polyphagia, which can occur in anorexia nervosa, but is not necessarily accompanied by this symptom. This symptom group includes two main components, one is the irresistible compulsion to eat more, and the other is to try to vomit to avoid weight gain, and sometimes abuse laxatives. The weight of such patients is often kept within the normal range, and female patients can still have normal menstruation. It is more common in women. According to foreign reports, the prevalence of this disease in women is about 1% to 3%. The prevalence in men is about 1/10 of that in women. The prevalence is similar around the world. The disease often begins in late adolescence or early adulthood and can last for several years. It is mostly a chronic or cyclical course. The long-term prognosis is still unclear.
