Lactate acidosis
Lactic acidosis (LA) is a rare but serious acute complication of diabetes. Once it occurs, the mortality rate can be as high as 50% or more, especially when blood lactate is >25mmol/L, the mortality rate can be as high as 80%. Plasma lactate concentration depends on glycolysis and the rate of lactate utilization. If tissue hypoxia is caused by various reasons, lactate is produced excessively, or lactate utilization and clearance are reduced due to liver and kidney diseases, the blood lactate concentration will increase.
