Malignant hydatidiform mole
When the blister-like tissue of a hydatidiform mole exceeds the scope of the uterine cavity, invades the deep uterine myometrium or metastasizes to other parts, it is called a malignant hydatidiform mole. The chance of a hydatidiform mole turning into a malignant hydatidiform mole or choriocarcinoma is 5% to 20%, most of which occur within 6 months after the hydatidiform mole is removed, but some hydatidiform mole may turn into a malignant hydatidiform mole before it is expelled. Although a malignant hydatidiform mole has the characteristics of a malignant tumor, its treatment effect and prognosis are better than those of choriocarcinoma.
