Chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis in children
Chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis (CLT), also known as autoimmune thyroiditis, is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease with the thyroid tissue as the antigen. The incidence has increased rapidly in recent years, and some reports suggest that it is close to the incidence of hyperthyroidism. This disease is the most common cause of goiter and acquired hypothyroidism in children and adolescents.
