Leiomyosarcoma of the small intestine
Small intestinal leiomyosarcoma is a malignant tumor originating from the muscular layer of the small intestine, the submucosal muscular layer and the smooth muscle of the intestinal wall blood vessels. It is the most common type of malignant tumor of the small intestinal connective tissue. Among the small intestinal non-smooth fibroids, the ratio of leiomyosarcoma to leiomyoma is 2 to 4:1. It is more common in the jejunum, followed by the ileum and duodenum.
