Nervous food poisoning
Botulism is an acute poisoning disease caused by eating food containing Clostridium botulinum exotoxin. The disease was first discovered in Wildbad, southern Germany in 1793. It was named botulism after eating spoiled sausages. "Botulus" means sausage in Latin. In recent years, four clinical types of botulism have been proposed: ingestion botulism, infant botulism, traumatic botulism and inhalation botulism. Clinically, neurological symptoms are the main clinical manifestations, and the mortality rate is high.
