Some diseases or factors can produce clinical symptoms similar to those of Parkinson's disease (PD). The causes of these diseases are infection, drugs (dopamine receptor blockers, etc.), toxins (MPTP, carbon monoxide, manganese, etc.), vascular (multiple cerebral infarctions), and brain trauma, which are clinically referred to as Parkinson's syndrome (Parkinsonism). Some scholars also refer to Parkinson's disease (PD) and the above-mentioned diseases with similar clinical symptoms of Parkinson's disease as Parkinsonism. Vascular Parkinsinism (VP) is mostly caused by cerebrovascular lesions, such as multiple lacunar cerebral infarctions, basal ganglia lacunar states, amyloid angiopathy, and subcortical leukoencephalopathy, and its clinical manifestations are similar to those of PD.
