Perinephric abscess
Perinephric abscesses are mainly caused by the rupture of an intrarenal abscess into the perirenal area. Therefore, the pathogens are the same as those that cause intrarenal abscesses. In about 25% of cases, the abscesses can be cultured to produce multiple pathogens. The perinephric fascia usually confines the abscess to the perirenal area, and the etiology is the same as that of intrarenal abscesses.
