Restless Legs Syndrome
Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is also known as hyperactive legs syndrome or restless legs syndrome. RLS can occur in all age groups, but is more common in middle-aged people over 40 years old. Symptoms mainly occur in both lower limbs, but can also affect the thighs and feet. One side may be more severe, or limited to one lower limb, but the upper limbs and hands are rarely affected. It is an episodic disease with multiple painful sensations such as deep soreness, numbness, burning, crawling insects, itching, etc. in the affected limb as the main manifestations. Symptoms appear when resting, but not when working, laboring or exercising during the day.
