Posterior polymorphic corneal dystrophy
Posterior polymorphous dystrophy (PPD) represents a spectrum of diseases with clinical and histopathological differences, one of which is similar to ICE syndrome. Different names have been proposed for this disease, such as internal bullous keratitis, posterior corneal herpes, hereditary deep corneal dystrophy, and hereditary mesodermal dystrophy. The name PPD is now generally accepted. Silberman first mentioned the association between PPD and glaucoma, and Grayson and Gibis et al. discussed the various clinical manifestations of PPD in detail.
