Papillary muscle insufficiency
Papillary muscle insufficiency refers to the contractile dysfunction of the papillary muscles to which the atrioventricular valve chordae are attached due to ischemia, necrosis, fibrosis or other reasons, which leads to mitral regurgitation and mitral valve regurgitation.
