Neonatal stridor
Laryngeal stridor of newborn refers to the wheezing sound in the larynx that occurs at birth or within a few weeks after birth. It is caused by airflow passing through a narrowed airway segment during breathing. The narrowed airway segment can be caused by a variety of causes. It is more common in winter and spring. It is most common in infants and young children, especially newborns and infants. Severe cases can cause breathing difficulties or even respiratory failure.
