Mucopolysaccharidosis type IV
This type is also known as Morquio syndrome, osteochondrodystrophy, malformed chondrodystrophy, and atypical rickets. Its characteristic manifestations are obvious shortening and deformity of the trunk, progressive changes in the femoral head and acetabulum, joint swelling, and muscle and ligament relaxation. This disease is autosomal recessive and can occur in both sexes, with males slightly more likely to develop the disease than females.
