HUS
Gasser (1955) first reported 5 children with combined symptoms of hemolytic anemia, acute renal insufficiency and thrombocytopenia. Later, this triple syndrome was called hemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS), and some people also called it microangiopathic hemolytic anemia. Typical HUS is a syndrome accompanied by abnormal red blood cell morphology and clinically characterized by hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia and acute renal failure.
