Melioidosis
Melioidosis is an endemic infectious disease caused by Burkholderia pseudomallei, which is prevalent in tropical areas such as Southeast Asia and northern Australia. Burkholderia pseudomallei is a saprophytic bacterium. People come into contact with contaminated soil or water, and are infected through direct contact, respiratory tract, digestive tract, and bites of blood-sucking insects. The clinical manifestations of this disease are complex, and there are many common clinical manifestations. Those with acute sepsis are often accompanied by multiple suppurative lesions, and those with chronic diseases are similar to cavitary tuberculosis. If not treated in time, the mortality rate is very high.
