Gallstone ileus
Cholelithiasis ileus is a type of intestinal obstruction caused by gallstones entering the bile duct, which was first reported by Bartholin in 1654. This disease is rare clinically, with an insidious onset, often intermittent attacks in the early stages of the disease, and not every patient has typical manifestations on X-ray examinations. Only 10% to 75% of patients are diagnosed before surgery.
