| Glimepiride |
Glimepiride is an oral sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drug that works mainly by stimulating the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells and has an extrapancreatic hypoglycemic effect. 1. Insulin release: regulates insulin secretion by closing the ATP-sensitive potassium ion channel of the pancreatic beta cell membrane, inducing beta cell membrane depolarization, opening calcium ion channels to cause calcium ion influx, and promoting insulin release. 2. Extrapancreatic activity: improves the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin, reduces the output of glucose by the liver, and increases the number of glucose transfer molecules in the plasma membrane of muscle and fat cells, thereby stimulating glucose uptake. 3. Experiments on rabbits have shown that ammonium ferric citrate (2mmol/L) can satisfactorily enhance the signal contrast on spin echo (SE) sequence T1W and T2W images. The results of acute toxicity experiments have shown that when the maximum dose of ammonium ferric citrate effervescent powder is 2000mg/kg for rats and dogs, no obvious toxic reactions are observed except for fecal changes (such as softened or watery stools).
