A potent, highly selective 5-HT reuptake inhibitor that increases the 5-HT concentration in the synaptic cleft and enhances central serotonergic nerve function. It only weakly inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine, has almost no affinity for muscarinic receptors or α1, α2, β-adrenergic receptors, dopamine receptors (D2), 5-HT1 receptors, 5-HT2 receptors, and histamine (H1) receptors, and has no inhibitory effect on monoamine oxidase.

Repaglinide

This non-sulfonylurea insulin secretagogue specifically binds to the 36KDA protein on the ATP-dependent potassium ion channel outside the insulin cell membrane, closing the potassium channel, depolarizing the cell, opening the calcium channel, and causing calcium ion influx, thus promoting insulin secretion. It works faster than sulfonylureas, so it has a faster effect in lowering blood sugar after a meal.
