The effect of blocking beta receptors is 4-8 times that of blocking alpha receptors; the effect of blocking beta1 receptors is 1/4 of propranolol, and the effect of blocking beta2 receptors is 1/17-1/11 of propranolol. This product has a slightly stronger effect in blocking beta1 receptors than in blocking beta2 receptors. At equivalent doses, its heart rate slowing effect is milder than that of propranolol, and its antihypertensive effect occurs faster. The vasodilation caused by this product blocking alpha receptors is also involved in the antihypertensive and anti-anginal mechanisms. Compared with simple beta receptor blockers, this drug has a stronger antihypertensive effect during standing and exercise tests.
