This product belongs to the macrolide antibiotics, and its mechanism is to inhibit protein synthesis by hindering the association of 50S subunits of nuclear proteins. This product has an inhibitory effect on Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, and Pneumococcus, and also has an inhibitory effect on some Gram-negative bacteria such as Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis, Gonorrhea, Legionella pneumophila, and some anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis, Streptococcus peptostreptococcus, Propionibacterium acnes, etc., and also has an inhibitory effect on mycoplasma. The characteristics of this product are that its antibacterial activity in vitro is similar to that of erythromycin, but its antibacterial activity in vivo against some bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, and Haemophilus influenzae, is stronger than erythromycin. There is cross-resistance between this product and erythromycin.

Orlistat

Orlistat is a long-acting and potent specific gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor. It exerts its therapeutic effect by forming a covalent bond with the active serine site of gastric lipase and pancreatic lipase in the stomach and small intestine to inactivate the enzyme. The inactivated enzyme cannot hydrolyze the fat in the food (mainly triglycerides) into absorbable free fatty acids and monoacylglycerol. Undigested triglycerides cannot be absorbed by the body, thereby reducing calorie intake and controlling weight. The drug does not need to be absorbed through the whole body to exert its efficacy.
