Terazosin Hydrochloride Tablets

This product is a selective α1 receptor blocker that can reduce peripheral vascular resistance and has a lowering effect on both systolic and diastolic blood pressure; it has the effect of relaxing bladder and prostate smooth muscles and can relieve symptoms of dysuria caused by benign prostatic hypertrophy.

Terazosin hydrochloride.

White or off-white tablets.

It is used to treat hypertension, either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs.

Oral administration. Once a day, first before bedtime. The starting dose is 1 mg, and the dose is gradually increased until a satisfactory therapeutic effect is achieved. The usual dose is 1-10 mg per day, and the maximum dose is 20 mg per day. If treatment needs to be restarted after discontinuation of the drug, the dose must also be gradually increased from 1 mg.

The main adverse reactions are headache, dizziness, weakness, palpitations, nausea, orthostatic hypotension, etc. These reactions are usually mild and will disappear on their own with continued treatment. The dosage can be reduced if necessary.
