Appearance
This product is white tablets.
Indication
1 Skin and mucous membrane allergy: suitable for long-term and seasonal allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, urticaria, food allergy, skin scratches. 2 Motion sickness: carsickness, seasickness, airplane sickness. 3 Nausea and vomiting.
Usage and Dosage
1 Allergic rhinitis: Adults, take 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets) orally once a day. Or take according to the doctor's advice. 2 Urticaria, eczema, dermatitis, pruritus, psoriasis, bronchial asthma. Usually adults take 20 mg (2 tablets) orally once a day. Or take according to age and symptoms.
Adverse Reactions
The main adverse reactions are drowsiness, sleepiness, dry mouth, and occasional gastrointestinal irritation. Extrapyramidal symptoms are prone to occur at high doses. Elderly people often experience dizziness, dementia, mental confusion, and hypotension. A few patients experience excitement, insomnia, palpitations, headaches, tinnitus, blurred vision, and dysuria after taking the drug. Overdose may cause clumsiness, slow reaction, and tremors.
Precautions
It is contraindicated for newborns and premature infants.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Children under 3 months old may not have enough drug metabolizing enzymes in their bodies, so this product should not be used. In addition, it may cause renal insufficiency. Newborns or premature infants, children with acute illness or dehydration, and children with acute infections are prone to dystonia after injection of promethazine. When children take 75-125 mg orally at one time, they may experience abnormalities such as overexcitement, irritability, or (and) nightmares. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Use with caution in lactating women and pregnant women. Precautions for the elderly: The elderly are prone to dizziness, sluggishness, mental confusion, and hypotension when using this drug. The elderly are also prone to extrapyramidal symptoms, inability to sit still (akathisia), and persistent movement disorders when using this drug, which are more likely to occur when the dose is large or the drug is administered parenterally.
Drug Interactions
1 This product can enhance the effect of anticholinergic drugs such as atropine. 2 The combined use of sedatives, hypnotics, and antiallergic drugs can increase the inhibitory effect of this product on the central nervous system. 3 When used with ototoxic drugs such as aminoglycoside antibiotics, salicylic acid preparations, and norvancomycin, the symptoms of ototoxicity can be masked and difficult to detect. 4 If used with other drugs at the same time, drug interactions may occur.
