Fusidic acid oral suspension

Sodium fusidate produces bactericidal effects by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and has a strong antibacterial effect on a series of Gram-positive bacteria. Staphylococci, including strains resistant to penicillin, methicillin and other antibiotics, are highly sensitive to this product. There is no cross-resistance between sodium fusidate and other antibacterial drugs used clinically.

This product is white crystalline powder, and the special solvent is colorless clear liquid.

It is mainly used to treat various infections caused by various sensitive bacteria, especially staphylococci, such as osteomyelitis, sepsis, endocarditis, recurrent cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, surgical and traumatic infections.

Suitable for patients who are not suitable for oral administration or have poor gastrointestinal absorption. Adults 500mg (1 bottle)/time, 3 times a day. The total daily dose should not exceed 2g. Children and infants 20mg/kg body weight/day, divided into 3 doses.

Intravenous injection of this product may cause thrombophlebitis and venous spasm. Reversible increase in transaminases has been reported when taking 1.5-3 grams per day. There have been reports of reversible jaundice in some patients after taking the drug, which is mainly seen in large-dose intravenous administration, especially in patients with severe Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia. If jaundice persists, the drug should be discontinued, and serum bilirubin will return to normal. Reports of allergic reactions are very rare.

Sodium fusidate can be used in combination with penicillinase-resistant penicillins, cephalosporins, erythromycin, aminoglycosides, lincomycin, rifampicin or vancomycin to achieve additive or synergistic effects.
