Vitamin K1 Injection

This product is a vitamin drug. Vitamin K is a necessary substance for the liver to synthesize factors II, VII, IX, and X. Vitamin K deficiency can cause synthesis disorders or abnormalities of these coagulation factors, and clinically bleeding tendency and prolonged prothrombin time can be seen.

The main ingredient of this product is vitamin K1, and its chemical name is a mixture of trans- and cis-isomers of 2-methyl-3-(3,7,11,15-tetramethyl-2-hexadecenyl)-1,4-naphthalenedione.

This product is a yellow to orange-yellow transparent viscous liquid.

It is used for bleeding caused by vitamin K deficiency, such as bleeding caused by obstructive jaundice, bile fistula, chronic diarrhea, hypoprothrombinemia caused by coumarins, sodium salicylate, etc., neonatal hemorrhage and vitamin K deficiency in the body caused by long-term use of broad-spectrum antibiotics.

1. Hypoprothrombinemia: intramuscular or deep subcutaneous injection, 10 mg each time, 1-2 times a day, the total amount within 24 hours should not exceed 40 mg. 2. Prevention of neonatal hemorrhage: 2-5 mg can be given to the mother intramuscularly or slowly intravenously 12-24 hours before delivery. 0.5-1 mg can also be injected intramuscularly or subcutaneously after the birth of the newborn, which can be repeated after 8 hours. 3. When this product is used for intravenous injection in critically ill patients, the administration rate should not exceed 1 mg/min.

Allergic reactions are occasionally seen. Rapid intravenous injection, exceeding 5 mg/min, can cause facial flushing, sweating, bronchospasm, tachycardia, hypotension, etc. There have been reports of death from rapid intravenous injection. Intramuscular injection can cause local swelling and pain. Neonates may develop hyperbilirubinemia, jaundice and hemolytic anemia after using this product.

It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease or poor liver function.

This product may produce granular precipitation after 2 hours of mixing with phenytoin sodium, and it is easy to become turbid when mixed with vitamin C, vitamin B12, and dextran. When used in combination with dicoumarol oral anticoagulants, the effects are mutually offset. Salicylic acid, sulfonamides, quinine, quinidine, etc. also affect the effect of vitamin K1.
