Lithium carbonate tablets
Function and Efficacy
This product works in the form of lithium ions. Its mechanism of anti-manic attacks is to inhibit the Ca2-dependent release of norepinephrine and dopamine from nerve endings, promote the reuptake of norepinephrine in the synaptic cleft by nerve cells, increase its conversion and inactivation, thereby reducing the concentration of norepinephrine, and promote the synthesis and release of 5-hydroxytryptamine, which helps stabilize emotions. This product has many adverse reactions, but it is still the first choice for the treatment of mania.
