Function and Efficacy
Methyltestosterone is a synthetic androgen. Methyltestosterone tablets can promote the development and maturation of male organs and secondary sexual characteristics; counteract estrogen, inhibit endometrial growth and pituitary gonadal function; promote protein synthesis and bone formation; stimulate bone marrow hematopoiesis, increase red blood cells and hemoglobin. The ratio of androgen to protein assimilation is 1:1.

Indication
1. Primary or secondary male sexual dysfunction. 2. Palliative treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
Usage and Dosage
Common dosage for adults: 1. Hormone replacement therapy for men with hypogonadism: Oral or sublingual, 5 mg once, twice a day. 2. Palliative treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women: Oral or sublingual, 25 mg once, 1 to 4 times a day. If the treatment responds, the dosage can be reduced to 25 mg twice a day, orally or sublingually after 2 to 4 weeks.
Adverse Reactions
1. Long-term and high-dose use can easily lead to cholestatic hepatitis, jaundice, and abnormal liver function. Sublingual administration can cause stomatitis, manifested as pain, salivation, and other symptoms. 2. Women may cause acne, hirsutism, hoarseness of voice, amenorrhea, and menstrual disorders, and the drug should be discontinued. 3. Men may have testicular atrophy, decreased sperm production, and decreased semen, and the drug should be discontinued. 4. Electrolyte water and sodium retention.
Precautions
Pregnant women, patients with prostate cancer and those who are allergic to this product are prohibited from using it.

Drug Interactions
Combination with barbiturates can increase their liver metabolism and weaken their effects; this product can reduce thyroid binding globulin and enhance the effects of thyroid hormones.
