Cefuroxime Sodium for Injection
Function and Efficacy
This product has a broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Haemophilus influenzae, Proteus and Bacteroides fragilis. Its mechanism of action is that it shows a strong affinity for penicillin-binding protein, which is the usual point of action of β-lactam antibiotics. It can inhibit cell wall synthesis and bind to peptidoglycan, inhibit the binding of peptidoglycan to lipoprotein to promote bacteriolysis, and show a strong bactericidal effect in a short time. This product shows antibacterial effect in both the bacterial proliferation period and the early stable period, and has a bactericidal effect at concentrations below the MIC, and lyses bacteria in a short time. The antibacterial effect in vivo is stronger than predicted by the MIC. Injection of 200-1600 mg/kg/day of this product has no effect on the reproductive capacity of rat mothers, the development and differentiation of offspring, and the reproductive capacity
