Amoxicillin Sodium and Sulbactam Sodium for Injection
Function and Efficacy
Pharmacological action: This compound preparation is composed of amoxicillin sodium and sulbactam sodium. Amoxicillin is a bactericidal broad-spectrum antibiotic, and sulbactam sodium is an irreversible broad-spectrum β-lactamase, which can make amoxicillin lose its antibacterial activity. Due to the presence of sulbactam sodium, amoxicillin can be protected from destruction by β-lactamase, so that bacteria that are resistant to amoxicillin and produce β-lactamase are still sensitive to amoxicillin. This product is a bactericidal antibiotic that can kill a variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria clinically, especially for resistant bacteria that produce β-lactamase. These bacteria include: Gram-positive bacteria aerobic bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Listeria monocytogenes
Ingredients
Amoxicillin sodium: sodium (2S, 5R, 6R)-3,3-dimethyl-6-[(R)-(-)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethylamino]-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylate. Sulbactam sodium: sodium (2S, 5R)-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxido-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylate-4,4-dioxide.

This product is white or off-white powder. The solution is colorless or light yellow after dissolution.
Indication
This product is a compound preparation composed of amoxicillin sodium and sulbactam sodium. It is suitable for the following infections caused by enzyme-producing Staphylococci, Klebsiella pneumoniae, other streptococci, influenza bacilli, gonococci, Escherichia coli, Proteus, Morganella, Citrobacter, Enterobacter, Salmonella, etc.: Upper respiratory tract infections: sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, laryngitis, pharyngitis; lower respiratory tract infections: acute bronchitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and infection, pneumonia, empyema, lung abscess, etc.; genitourinary tract infections: acute pyelonephritis, acute exacerbation of chronic pyelonephritis, acute lower urinary tract infection, pelvic infection, etc.; skin and soft tissue infections: furuncle, abscess, cellulitis, wound infection, etc. Other systemic infections
Usage and Dosage
Intramuscular injection or intravenous drip after dilution. 1.5-3g each time, add 150-200ml of 5% glucose injection and drip intravenously, drip in 1 hour, 2-3 times a day. The dosage for moderate to severe infection is 4.5-6.0g/day, and the dosage for severe infection is 9.0g/day or 150mg/kg/day, divided into 2-3 intravenous drips. The course of treatment is 7-14 days, and the course of treatment can be appropriately extended for severe infection.
Adverse Reactions
There are few adverse reactions, most of which are mild. 1 Local adverse reactions include pain at the injection site and thrombophlebitis 2 Systemic adverse reactions include diarrhea and facial flushing, and rare adverse reactions include rash (erythematous maculopapular lesions, urticaria), itching, nausea, vomiting, candidal infection, fatigue, discomfort, headache, chest pain, abdominal distension, glossitis, urinary retention, dysuria, edema, facial swelling, erythema, nausea, tightness of the throat, sternal pain, epistaxis and mucosal bleeding. 3 Increased serum transaminase, etc.
Precautions
1. Patients allergic to penicillin or other β-lactam antibiotics are contraindicated. 2. Patients allergic to sulbactam are contraindicated.
Drug Interactions
1. Probenecid competitively reduces the renal tubular secretion of this product. The simultaneous use of the two can cause an increase in the blood concentration of amoxicillin and a prolonged half-life. 2. Chloramphenicol, human lactones, sulfonamides and tetracyclines interfere with the antibacterial effect of amoxicillin in vitro, but the clinical significance is unclear.
