Function and Efficacy
This product is a macrolide antibiotic, and its mechanism of action and antibacterial spectrum are similar to those of erythromycin, but it has a stronger antibacterial effect on Gram-positive bacteria, and is effective against Staphylococcus, hemolytic Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Diphtheria Corynebacterium, Tetanus Corynebacterium, and Anthrax Corynebacterium. It also has antibacterial effects on Gram-negative bacteria such as gonococci and pertussis Bordetella. Some erythromycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus are still sensitive to kitasamycin, and it is also quite active against Leptospira, Rickettsia, and Mycoplasma.

Appearance
This product is white or off-white crystals or powder; odorless and bitter.
Indication
It is mainly used for skin and soft tissue infections, biliary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, streptococcal pharyngitis, scarlet fever, diphtheria, Legionnaires' disease, whooping cough, etc. caused by sensitive Gram-positive bacteria, as well as gonorrhea, non-gonococcal urethritis, acne, etc.
Usage and Dosage
Intravenous injection or intravenous drip. Dissolve with a small amount of sodium chloride injection or glucose injection first, then dilute to the required concentration. For adults, 0.2-0.4g at a time, 2-3 times a day. For children, 0.2g a day or less as appropriate, divided into 2-3 doses. When injected intravenously, the concentration should not be greater than 2%, i.e. 200,000 units. Dissolve the single dose in 10-20ml of sodium chloride injection or glucose injection; push slowly (rapid intravenous injection sometimes causes nausea, abdominal pain, hypotension, shock symptoms, etc.), and the injection speed should be no less than 5 minutes to avoid venous discomfort.
Adverse Reactions
The incidence of gastrointestinal reactions of this product is lower than that of erythromycin, and rash and itching may occasionally occur.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to this product and macrolide antibiotics are contraindicated.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: This product has not been tested and there is no reliable reference. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product can pass through the placenta and enter the fetal circulation. The concentration is generally not high, but pregnant women should weigh the pros and cons when using it. A considerable amount of this product enters breast milk, so breastfeeding women should stop breastfeeding during use. Precautions for the elderly: This product has not been tested and there is no reliable reference.
