Atropine sulfate. Chemical name: α-(Hydroxymethyl)phenylacetic acid-8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]-3-octyl ester sulfate monohydrate Molecular weight: 2C17H23NO3.H2O4S

This product is white tablets.

Oral: 0.3-0.6 mg (1-2 tablets), 3 times a day, maximum dose 1 mg each time, 3 mg per day (10 tablets).

The adverse reactions caused by different doses are as follows: 0.5mg, slight heart rate slowing, slightly dry mouth and less sweating; 1mg, dry mouth, accelerated heart rate, slightly dilated pupils; 2mg, palpitations, significant dry mouth, dilated pupils, and sometimes blurred vision; 5mg, the above symptoms are aggravated, and there are slurred speech, irritability, dry skin and fever, urination difficulties, and reduced intestinal peristalsis; above 10mg, the above symptoms are more severe, the pulse is heavier, the pulse is fast and weak, the central excitement phenomenon is serious, the breathing is accelerated and deepened, and delirium, hallucinations, convulsions, etc. may occur; in severe poisoning, the central excitement may turn into inhibition, resulting in coma and respiratory paralysis. The minimum lethal dose is about 80-130mg for adults and 10mg for children. Use with caution in patients with fever, rapid pulse, diarrhea and the elderly.

It is contraindicated for patients with glaucoma, prostate hypertrophy, and high fever.

Precautions for children: Oral: 0.01~0.02mg/kg each time, three times a day. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The safety of this product for pregnant women is not clear yet. Pregnant women need to consider the pros and cons of the drug. This product can be secreted into breast milk and has the effect of inhibiting lactation. It should be used with caution in lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly patients, especially those over 60 years old, should use this product with caution.

1. When used in combination with urine alkalinizing drugs, including antacids containing magnesium or calcium, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, sodium bicarbonate, citrate, etc., atropine excretion is delayed, and the duration of action and (or) toxicity are increased. 2. When used in combination with amantadine, phenothiazines, other anticholinergics, primidone, procainamide, and tricyclic antidepressants, the toxic and side effects of atropine may be aggravated. 3. When used in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (including furazolidone, procarbazine, etc.), the side effects of anti-M cholinergic effects may be enhanced. 4. When used in combination with metoclopramide, the latter's effect of promoting gastrointestinal motility may be antagonized.
