Quetiapine Fumarate Tablets

This product is a new type of antipsychotic drug, which is an antagonist of multiple neurotransmitter receptors in the brain. Its antipsychotic mechanism may be mainly to block central dopamine D2 receptors and 5-HT2 receptors. It also has a blocking effect on histamine H1 and adrenaline (1 receptors, and has no affinity for muscarinic and benzodiazepine receptors.

The main ingredient of this product is quetiapine fumarate. Its chemical name is 11-{4-[2-(2-hydroxyethoxy)ethyl-1-piperazine]}diphenyl(b,f)(1,4)thiazepine 1/2 fumarate.

This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears white or off-white after removing the film coating.

All types of schizophrenia. This product is not only effective for the positive symptoms of schizophrenia, but also has a certain effect on the negative symptoms. It can also alleviate the emotional symptoms related to schizophrenia such as depression, anxiety and cognitive deficits.

Oral administration for adults: The initial dose is 25 mg twice a day. Increase by 25 mg every 1 to 3 days, gradually increasing to a therapeutic dose of 300 to 600 mg per day, divided into 2 to 3 doses.

Common adverse reactions include dizziness, drowsiness, orthostatic hypotension, palpitations, dry mouth, loss of appetite and constipation. It can also cause weight gain, abdominal pain, asymptomatic ALP increase and increase in total cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. Extrapyramidal adverse reactions are rare. It can occasionally cause excitement and insomnia.

Patients with cardiovascular diseases (heart failure, myocardial infarction, conduction abnormalities) and ischemic heart disease are prohibited from using this product. 3. Patients with cerebrovascular diseases are prohibited from using this product. 4. Patients with coma, leukopenia, thyroid disease and epilepsy are prohibited from using this product. 5. Patients with liver and kidney dysfunction are prohibited from using this product. 6. Patients with conditions that may induce hypotension (dehydration, hypovolemia, antihypertensive drug treatment) are prohibited from using this product.

Precautions for children: The safety and efficacy of this product for children and adolescents have not been evaluated. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. The efficacy and safety of this product in human pregnancy have not been determined. Therefore, quetiapine can only be used in pregnant patients when the benefits outweigh the potential risks. 2. The excretion of this product in human milk is unclear. If lactating women use quetiapine, they should be advised to discontinue breastfeeding during medication. Precautions for the elderly: Because the oral clearance of quetiapine in elderly patients is 40% lower than that in adult patients, the oral dose needs to be adjusted (see Dosage and Administration).

1. When used in combination with ketoconazole, erythromycin, clozapine, nefazodone, fluvoxamine, carbamazepine, etc., the blood concentration of quinidine can be increased. 2. When used in combination with phenytoin, thioridazine, etc., the blood concentration of quinidine can be reduced. 3. This product should be avoided in combination with alcoholic beverages. 4. Be cautious when used in combination with other central nervous system drugs. 5. When used in combination with antihypertensive drugs, there is a risk of inducing orthostatic hypotension. 6. When used in combination with levodopa and dopamine receptor agonists, the effects of these agonists can be weakened.
