Sodium Aescinate for Injection
Function and Efficacy
1 Pharmacology: Anti-exudation and venous tension-increasing drug. It has the effects of reducing swelling, anti-inflammation and improving blood circulation. 2 Toxicology: No hemolysis was found at a daily dose of less than 0.5 mg/kg body weight. Animals were acutely poisoned after intravenous injection of LS50, mainly manifested as hemolytic hypoxic necrosis of solid organs (heart, liver, kidney); it has a strong irritating effect on mucosa and muscle tissue.
Ingredients
The main ingredients of this product are sodium aescinate A and sodium aescinate B, which are triterpenoid saponins containing ester bonds extracted from the dried mature seeds of Aesculus tianshiensis, a plant of the Aesculus family.
Appearance
This product is a white loose mass, sponge or powder, easily soluble in water and hygroscopic.
Indication
It is used for cerebral edema, swelling caused by trauma or surgery, and also for venous reflux disorders.
Usage and Dosage
Intravenous injection: 0.1~0.4mg per kg body weight per day for adults. Take 5mg~10mg of this product and dissolve it in 250ml of 10% glucose injection or 0.9% sodium chloride injection for intravenous drip; or take 5mg~10mg of this product and dissolve it in 10ml~20ml10% glucose injection or 0.9% sodium chloride injection for intravenous push injection. Severe patients can be given multiple doses, but the total amount per day should not exceed 20mg. The course of treatment is 7-10 days.
Adverse Reactions
1 Occasionally, local pain and swelling at the injection site may occur, but warm compresses can quickly eliminate the symptoms. 2 Occasionally, allergic reactions may occur, which can be treated according to the principles of drug allergy treatment.
Precautions
It is contraindicated in patients with renal damage, renal failure, renal insufficiency and pregnant women.
Drug Interactions
Be cautious when using it in combination with the following drugs: 1. Drugs with high binding rate to serum proteins. 2. Drugs that can seriously damage renal function. 3. Corticosteroid drugs. 4. Drugs containing basic groups (precipitation may occur when used in combination).
