Appearance

This product is white tablets.

Indication

It is used to prevent and treat vitamin B6 deficiency, such as seborrheic dermatitis and chapped lips. It can also be used to relieve vomiting during pregnancy.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration: Adults, 1-2 tablets per day; children, 0.5-1 tablet per day, for 3 consecutive weeks.

Adverse Reactions

Vitamin B6 is almost non-toxic when renal function is normal. If 200 mg is taken daily for more than 30 days, vitamin B6 dependence syndrome has been reported. 2 to 6 g of vitamin B6 taken daily for several months can cause severe neurosensory abnormalities, progressive gait instability, numbness of the feet, and inflexibility of the hands, which can be relieved after stopping the drug, but still weak.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Children must use under adult supervision. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women taking large amounts of vitamin B6 may cause vitamin B6 dependence syndrome in newborns. Normal intake of the required amount by nursing mothers has no adverse effects on infants. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.

Drug Interactions

1. The combination of low-dose vitamin B6 (5 mg per day) and levodopa can reduce the efficacy of the latter in treating Parkinson's disease. However, if the preparation contains decarboxylase inhibitors such as carbidopa, it has no effect on levodopa. 2. Chloramphenicol, hydralazine hydrochloride, isoniazid, penicillamine and immunosuppressants including glucocorticoids, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine and other drugs can antagonize vitamin B6 or enhance the excretion of vitamin B6 through the kidneys, and may even cause anemia or peripheral neuritis. 3. The dosage of vitamin B6 should be increased when taking estrogen, because estrogen can reduce the activity of vitamin B6 in the body. 4.
