Appearance
This product is a sugar-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the sugar coating.
Indication
It is used for acute and chronic schizophrenia, mania, Tourette syndrome. It is effective in controlling excitement, agitation, hostility and aggressive behavior. Because this product has fewer adverse reactions to the cardiovascular system, it can also be used for organic brain disorders and senile mental disorders.
Usage and Dosage
For the treatment of schizophrenia, start with a small oral dose, 2 to 4 mg once, 2 to 3 times a day. Gradually increase to the usual dose of 10 to 40 mg per day, and maintain a dose of 4 to 20 mg per day. For the treatment of Tourette syndrome, 1 to 2 mg once, 2 to 3 times a day.
Adverse Reactions
1. Extrapyramidal reactions are more severe and common. Acute dystonia is more likely to occur in children and adolescents, with obvious torsion spasms, dysphagia, akathisia and Parkinson's disease. 2. Long-term and excessive use may cause tardive dyskinesia. 3. Dry mouth, blurred vision, fatigue, constipation, sweating, etc. may occur. 4. It may cause an increase in plasma prolactin concentration. Possible related symptoms include: galactorrhea, gynecomastia, menstrual disorders, and amenorrhea. 5. A small number of patients may experience depressive reactions. 6. Allergic rashes, neutropenia and malignant syndrome are occasionally seen.
Precautions
Patients with basal ganglia lesions, Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's syndrome, severe central nervous system depression, bone marrow suppression, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis and allergic to this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Refer to the adult dose and reduce the dose as appropriate. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women should use with caution. Lactating women should stop breastfeeding while using this product. Precautions for the elderly: Start with a small dose and increase the dose slowly to avoid extrapyramidal reactions and tardive dyskinesia.
Drug Interactions
1. When this product is used in combination with ethanol or other central nervous system depressants, the central nervous system depressant effect is enhanced. 2. When this product is used in combination with amphetamine, the latter's effect can be reduced. 3. When this product is used in combination with barbiturates or other anticonvulsants: it can change the form of epileptic seizures; it cannot enhance the efficacy of anticonvulsants. 4. When this product is used in combination with antihypertensive drugs, severe hypotension can occur. 5. When this product is used in combination with anticholinergic drugs, it may increase intraocular pressure. 6. When this product is used in combination with adrenaline, the activity of the receptors is dominant due to the blocking of receptors, which can lead to a decrease in blood pressure. 7. When this product is used in combination with lithium salts, it is necessary to observe neurotoxicity and brain damage. 8. When this product is used in combination with methyldopa, it can produce impaired consciousness, slow thinking, and disorientation. 9. When this product is used in combination with carbamazepine, the blood concentration of this product can be reduced and the effect can be weakened. 10. Drinking tea or coffee can reduce the absorption of this product and reduce its efficacy.
