Erythromycin Cyclopentyl Tablets
Function and Efficacy
Pharmacological action: Cyclic erythromycin belongs to the macrolide antibiotics. It acts on the 50S subunit of bacterial cell ribosomes and inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins. Cyclic erythromycin is a semi-synthetic derivative of erythromycin. The introduction of the cyclic carbonate group greatly improves the lipophilicity of erythromycin, thereby increasing its absorption. Experiments have shown that this structural change reduces the serum protein binding rate, improves the antibacterial activity and reduces the toxicity. This product has a broad antibacterial spectrum and is effective against the following bacteria: Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Pneumococcus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, etc. Gram-negative bacteria: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis, Shigella, etc. In addition to Bacteroides fragilis and Fusobacterium, it also has considerable antibacterial activity against various anaerobic bacteria. It also has certain therapeutic effects on other microorganisms: Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, Spirochete, Legionella, Campylobacter, Ameba, etc.
