The mechanism of action of polyphenol sulfonaldehyde is to kill bacteria, fungi and trichomonas through strong acid and protein coagulation. It selectively causes necrotic or diseased tissue and columnar epithelial protein denaturation. It causes vasoconstriction and plasma protein coagulation to stop bleeding. Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde has a broad spectrum of antibacterial effects, including common Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, fungi and certain viruses, among which Gardnerella Vaginatis, anaerobic bacteria Trichomonas and Candida are particularly sensitive to it. However, Doderlein Vaginalflore (vaginal lactobacillus flora) is basically unaffected. There is no report of drug resistance caused by this drug. Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde has a selective coagulation effect on necrotic or diseased tissue, which can promote tissue regeneration and epithelial re-covering. Healthy squamous epithelium is not affected by it, but the cytoplasm and nucleus of the columnar epithelium may swell after contact with this drug, followed by shrinkage in a few seconds. Topical application of polyphenol sulfonaldehyde is not toxic.

The main component of this product is polycresol sulfonaldehyde, which is a polymer of m-cresol sulfonaldehyde and formaldehyde.

This product is a light brown to light reddish brown suppository.

1. Gynecology: used for cervical erosion, cervicitis, various vaginal infections (such as increased leucorrhea caused by bacteria, trichomonas and fungi), vulvar itching, pressure ulcers caused by the use of pessaries, hemostasis after cervical polypectomy or biopsy, condyloma acuminatum and accelerated wound healing after electrocoagulation treatment; it can also be used for the prevention of mastitis (burning of nipple fissures). 2. Surgery and dermatology: used for local treatment of skin wounds and lesions (such as burns, limb ulcers, bedsores, chronic inflammation, etc.), can accelerate the shedding of necrotic tissue, hemostasis and promote the healing process and for the treatment of condyloma acuminatum. 3. Stomatology: used for inflammation of oral mucosa and gums, oral ulcers and hemostasis after tonsillectomy.

1. Gynecology: (1) Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde solution: ① Vaginal douching: dilute this drug with water at a ratio of 1:5. Usually, cauterization is performed 1-2 times a week. The usage and dosage are the same as vaginal douching. ③ Hemostasis: Press a cotton piece soaked in this drug solution (no dilution) on the bleeding site for 1-2 minutes to stop bleeding. (2) Polyphenol sulfonaldehyde suppository: Used to treat cervical erosion, cervicitis, various vaginal infections, vulvar itching, and pressure ulcers caused by the use of pessaries: Place 1 suppository in the vagina every 2 days. If the lesion is cauterized with this drug solution, place 1 suppository on the day between two cauterizations. For ease of use, it is best for the patient to lie in supine position, soak the suppository with water first, and then insert it deep into the vagina. It is usually appropriate to take the medicine before going to bed at night, and use a sanitary belt to prevent contamination of clothing and bedding. 2. Surgery and dermatology: Press the gauze soaked with the solution of this medicine on the bleeding site for 1-2 minutes. After stopping the bleeding, it is best to wipe off the residual liquid. The same method can also be used to treat local burns, bedsores and limb ulcers to make the necrotic tissue easier to fall off. The effect will be better if the gel of this medicine is continued to be used in these cases. 3. Stomatology: Usage and dosage are the same as those of surgery and dermatology. Patients with oral mucosal and gingival lesions must rinse their mouths thoroughly after using this solution for treatment.
