Compound Bifendate Granules

Function and Efficacy

Bifendate is an intermediate in the synthesis of Schisandra chinensis propyl. Oral administration of 150-200 mg/kg of this product to mice can reduce liver damage and elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT) caused by carbon tetrachloride. It has an inhibitory effect on liver microsomal lipid peroxidation caused by carbon tetrachloride and the metabolic conversion of carbon tetrachloride into carbon monoxide, and reduces the consumption of reduced coenzyme II and oxygen in the metabolic process of carbon tetrachloride, thereby protecting the structure and function of the hepatocyte biomembrane. This product can also reduce the increase of liver ALT induced by prednisone and promote liver regeneration in mice with partial hepatectomy. The enzyme-lowering effect of this product does not directly inhibit the activity of serum and liver ALT, nor does it accelerate the inactivation of ALT in the blood, which may be a reflection of the reduction of liver tissue damage. This product has a significant induction effect on the activity of cytochrome P450 enzymes, thereby enhancing the detoxification ability of carbon tetrachloride and certain carcinogens. It has an effect on improving protein metabolism in some hepatitis patients, increasing albumin and reducing globulin. It has no negative conversion effect on HbsAg and HbeAg, and cannot shrink the enlarged liver and spleen. Inosine is the precursor of adenine. It can directly penetrate the cell membrane and enter the cell, and then be converted into inosinic acid and adenosine triphosphate. It participates in the energy metabolism and protein synthesis of liver cells, improves the activity of various enzymes, especially coenzyme A and pyruvate oxidase, activates liver function, and promotes the recovery of damaged liver. Vitamin C is involved in the formation of antibodies and collagen, tissue repair (including certain redox effects), the metabolism of phenylalanine, tyrosine, and folic acid, the utilization of iron and carbohydrates, the synthesis of fat and protein, and the maintenance of immune function.
