This product is a disinfectant and preservative. Some Staphylococci, Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus salivarius, Candida albicans, Escherichia coli and anaerobic propionibacterium are highly sensitive to this product, Streptococcus haemophilus is moderately sensitive, Proteus, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella and Gram-negative cocci (such as Veillonella) are slightly sensitive. This product has a stronger antibacterial effect on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria than disinfectants such as benzalkonium bromide. This product is still effective in the presence of serum, blood, etc. The mechanism of action of this product is to adsorb to the permeability barrier of the bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, causing the cell contents to leak out and exert an antibacterial effect. Low concentrations have an antibacterial effect, while high concentrations have a bactericidal effect.

This product can be diluted and used for: pharyngitis, oral ulcers: 1:5000 solution for gargling.

1. Occasionally it may cause contact dermatitis. High concentration solutions are highly irritating to the conjunctiva. 2. This product may stain the oral surface, which may occur as early as about 1 week after use. After 6 months of use, about 50% of patients may have their teeth stained, and about 10% of patients may have severe staining, and those with more plaque deposits may have more significant staining. Dentures may be permanently stained due to rough surfaces or edges. 3. Taste changes may occur, which can be restored with continued treatment. 4. Painless superficial desquamation may occur in children and adolescents aged 10 to 18 years. 5. Local irritation and allergic reactions are rare. 6. After children accidentally drink this product, they may develop symptoms of alcohol poisoning (such as slurred speech, drowsiness, shaky gait, etc.) and should be sent to the emergency room immediately.

It is contraindicated for patients with periodontitis, those with incisor fillings, and those who are allergic to this product.
