Metronidazole Sodium Chloride Injection

Large doses can cause convulsions.

The main ingredient of this product is: metronidazole.

This product is mainly used to treat anaerobic infections.

Intravenous drip 1. The common dose for anaerobic infection in adults is 15 mg/kg body weight for the first intravenous administration (1 g for a 70 kg adult), and the maintenance dose is 7.5 mg/kg body weight, intravenously dripped once every 6 to 8 hours. 2. The common dose for anaerobic infection in children is the same as that for adults.

Adverse reactions occur in 15-30% of cases, with digestive tract reactions being the most common, including nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and abdominal cramps, which generally do not affect treatment; neurological symptoms include headache, dizziness, occasional paresthesia, limb numbness, ataxia, multiple neuritis, etc., and high doses can cause convulsions. A small number of cases develop urticaria, flushing, itching, cystitis, dysuria, metallic taste in the mouth, and leukopenia, all of which are reversible and recover on their own after stopping the drug.

It is contraindicated for patients with active central nervous system diseases and blood diseases.

Precautions during pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited to use this product. Precautions for the elderly: Due to the decreased liver function in the elderly, the pharmacokinetics of this product may change when used, and the blood drug concentration should be strictly monitored.
