Tinidazole Sodium Chloride Injection

Function and Efficacy

This product has high activity against protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. It has antibacterial activity against Bacteroides fragilis, Fusobacterium, Clostridium, Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Veillonella and Gardnerella, and a concentration of 2-4 mg/L can inhibit most anaerobic bacteria; microaerophilic bacteria and Helicobacter pylori are sensitive to it; the MIC for Trichomonas vaginalis is similar to that of metronidazole, and its metabolites are more active against Gardnerella than metronidazole. The mechanism of action of this product has not been fully elucidated. The nitroreductase of anaerobic bacteria plays an important role in the energy metabolism of sensitive strains. The nitro group of this product is reduced to a cytotoxin, which acts on the DNA metabolism process of bacteria and promotes the death of bacteria. Resistant bacteria often lack nitroreductase and are resistant to this product. The mechanism of this product against amoeba is to inhibit its redox reaction, break the nitrogen chain of the protozoa, and thus kill the protozoa.

Used for preoperative preventive medication in colorectal surgery, gynecological surgery and oral surgery.

Usage and Dosage

Intravenous drip. 1. Anaerobic infection: 0.8g once, once a day, intravenous drip slowly, generally 5 to 6 days, or according to the condition. 2. Prevention of postoperative anaerobic infection: total amount 1.6g, drip once or twice, the first time 2 to 4 hours before surgery, the second time during surgery or within 12 to 24 hours after surgery.

Adverse Reactions

Adverse reactions are rare and mild, mainly nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, loss of appetite and metallic taste in the mouth, headache, dizziness, itchy skin, rash, constipation and general discomfort. In addition, there may be angioedema, neutropenia, disulfiram-like reaction and dark urine, and occasionally mild phlebitis at the infusion site. High doses can also cause epileptic seizures and peripheral neuropathy.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or azole drugs and those with active central nervous system diseases and blood diseases.

Drug Interactions

1 This product can inhibit the metabolism of warfarin and other oral anticoagulants, enhance their effects, and cause the prothrombin time to be prolonged. 2 When used in combination with drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes such as phenytoin sodium and phenobarbital, it can enhance the metabolism of this product, reduce blood drug concentration, and slow down the excretion of phenytoin sodium. 3 When used in combination with drugs that inhibit the activity of liver microsomal enzymes such as cimetidine, it can slow down the metabolism and excretion of this product in the liver, prolong the blood elimination half-life (t1/2b) of this product, and the dosage should be adjusted according to the results of blood drug concentration determination. 4 This product interferes with the metabolism of disulfiram. When the two are used together, patients may experience mental symptoms after drinking. Therefore, those who have used disulfiram within 2 weeks should not use this product again. 5 This product can interfere with the results of serum aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase determinations, and can reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Storage

Keep away from light, tightly closed, in a cool place.
