Compound α-keto acid tablets
Function and Efficacy
This product can provide essential amino acids and minimize the intake of amino nitrogen. Ketones or hydroxyamino acids do not contain amino groups themselves. They use the nitrogen of non-essential amino acids to convert into amino acids, thus reducing urea synthesis and the accumulation of uremic toxic products. Ketones or hydroxyamino acids do not cause ultrafiltration of the remaining renal units, and can improve renal hyperphosphatemia and secondary hyperparathyroidism, and improve renal osteodystrophy. This product can reduce nitrogen intake when combined with a low-protein diet, while avoiding adverse consequences caused by insufficient protein intake and malnutrition. Toxicology studies have shown that the toxicity is low. Chronic toxicology studies have shown that the minimum toxic dose for dogs is 1200 mg/day and for rats is 2700 mg/day. When these doses are adjusted to the dosage for humans (weight 70 kg), they are converted to 84 g/day for dogs and 189 g/day for rats. This product has no embryotoxicity.

Appearance
This product is a film-coated tablet, which is white or off-white after removing the film coating.
Indication
Combined with a low-protein diet, it can prevent and treat damage caused by protein metabolism disorders due to chronic renal insufficiency. It is usually used for patients with a glomerular filtration rate of less than 25 ml per minute. A low-protein diet requires an adult daily protein intake of 40 grams or less.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration. Take 3 times a day, 4 to 8 tablets each time, swallow the whole tablet during meals. Follow the doctor's advice if necessary. This dosage is calculated based on an adult weight of 70 kg. For patients with a glomerular filtration rate of less than 25 ml per minute, this product can be taken long-term with a low-protein diet of no more than 40 g per day (for adults).
Adverse Reactions
Hypercalcemia may occur. If hypercalcemia occurs, it is recommended to reduce the intake of vitamin D. If hypercalcemia persists, reduce the dosage of this product and reduce the intake of other calcium-containing substances.
Precautions
1. Hypercalcemia and amino acid metabolism disorders. 2. When patients with hereditary phenylketonuria use this product, they should be aware that this product contains phenylalanine.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: There is no data on the use of this product by children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: There is no experience of use by pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: No special requirements.
Drug Interactions
1. When used with other calcium-containing drugs, it can increase blood calcium levels; increased blood calcium can increase the sensitivity of cardiac glycoside drugs, and therefore increase the risk of arrhythmia. 2. When uremia patients take this product for treatment, if they use aluminum hydroxide drugs at the same time, they need to reduce the dosage of aluminum hydroxide. Pay attention to the decrease in blood phosphorus levels. 3. In order not to affect drug absorption, drugs that combine with calcium to form insoluble complexes should not be taken at the same time as this product, and the interval should be at least 2 hours.
