Fosfomycin Sodium for Injection
Function and Efficacy
Fosfomycin has antibacterial effects on Gram-positive cocci such as Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. It also has strong antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Serratia, Shigella, Yersinia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Vibrio and Aeromonas. Fosfomycin can inhibit the early synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Its molecular structure is similar to phosphoenolpyruvate, so it can compete with bacteria for the same transferase, inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis and leading to bacterial death.
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is fosfomycin sodium. Its chemical name is ()-(1R,2S)-1,2-epoxypropylphosphonic acid disodium salt. Molecular formula: C3H5Na2O4P Molecular weight: 182.02
