Metoprolol Tartrate Injection

Metoprolol is a selective beta-1 blocker, which means that lower doses are required to affect beta-1 receptors in the heart than to affect beta-2 receptors in peripheral vascular and bronchial sites. However, as the dose of metoprolol increases, its selectivity for beta-1 receptors decreases.

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

Supraventricular tachyarrhythmias. Prevention and treatment of myocardial ischemia, suspected or confirmed acute myocardial infarction with tachyarrhythmias and chest pain.

This product should be used under the guidance of an experienced physician. At the same time, the patient's blood pressure and electrocardiogram should be carefully monitored, and resuscitation facilities should be available. Supraventricular tachyarrhythmia: Initially, administer intravenously at a rate of 1-2 mg/min, with a dosage of up to 5 mg (= 5 ml). This dose can be repeated after an interval of 5 minutes until a satisfactory effect is achieved. A total dose of 10-15 mg (= 10-15 ml) is usually sufficient to be effective; the recommended maximum intravenous dose is 20 mg (= 20 ml). Prevention and treatment of myocardial ischemia, suspected or confirmed acute myocardial infarction with tachyarrhythmias and chest pain: Immediately administer 5 mg (= 5 ml) intravenously. This dose can be repeated after an interval of 2 minutes until a satisfactory effect is achieved.

Some cases experience low blood pressure, bradycardia, dizziness and discomfort.

Decompensated heart failure, cardiogenic shock, sick sinus syndrome, second-degree or third-degree atrioventricular block, clinically significant bradycardia. When treating supraventricular tachyarrhythmias, patients with systolic blood pressure less than 110 mmHg should not be given intravenous metoprolol tartrate.

Precautions during pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women are prohibited from using

1. Patients with catecholamine depletion (such as reserpine) may experience dizziness or postural hypotension when used in combination with this product. 2. Nifedipine and diltiazem inhibit myocardial contraction, relax smooth muscle, and have different degrees of blood pressure lowering effects. They should not be used in combination with beta-receptor blockers. 3. When used in combination with clonidine and the drug must be discontinued, this product must be discontinued first, and then clonidine should be gradually discontinued after a few days to avoid blood pressure fluctuations. 4. When used in combination with digitalis glycosides, atrioventricular block may occur and cause a slow heart rate, so close observation is required. 5. When used in combination with adrenaline, phenylephrine or sympathomimetic amines, it may cause significant hypertension, slow heart rate, and atrioventricular block, so close observation is required. 6. It can enhance the efficacy of non-depolarizing muscle relaxants such as tubocurarine chloride and galactodonium iodide, and the duration of effect is also prolonged. 7. It can affect blood sugar levels, so when used in combination with hypoglycemic drugs, the latter's dose must be adjusted. 8 When used with isoproterenol or xanthine, the efficacy of the latter two may be weakened. 9 When used with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, it may cause extreme hypotension and is contraindicated. 10 When used with phenothiazines, the blood concentrations of both drugs may increase. 11 When used with reserpine, the effects of the two drugs are additive, the beta-receptor blocking effect is enhanced, and bradycardia and hypotension may occur.

Keep away from light and sealed. Valid for two years.

2ml: Metoprolol tartrate 2mg and sodium chloride 18mg
