Function and Efficacy
Nicotinic acid is converted into nicotinamide in the body, and then combined with riboadenin to form nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (coenzyme I) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (coenzyme II), which are necessary for lipid amino acid, protein, purine metabolism, tissue respiration oxidation and glycogenolysis. Nicotinic acid can reduce the utilization of coenzyme A; by inhibiting the synthesis of very low density lipoprotein (VLDL), it affects the transport of cholesterol in the blood. Large doses can reduce serum cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations. Nicotinic acid has a peripheral vasodilation effect.

Indication
Used to prevent and treat niacin deficiency diseases such as pellagra, dermatitis, glossitis, etc.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration: Adults, 1/2 to 1 tablet at a time, 3 times a day.
Adverse Reactions
1. This product will hardly cause toxic reactions when the renal function is normal. The general adverse reactions of this product include: feeling warm, redness of the skin, especially on the face and neck, headache and other vasodilation reactions; 2. High doses of the drug may cause diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, dry skin, itching, dry eyes, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, high blood sugar, high uric acid, arrhythmia, and hepatotoxic reactions; 3. Generally, after taking niacin for 2 weeks, vasodilation and gastrointestinal discomfort can gradually adapt, and gradually increasing the dosage can avoid the above reactions. If there is severe skin flushing, itching, and gastrointestinal discomfort, the dose should be reduced.
Drug Interactions
1 Isoniazid can prevent niacin from combining with coenzyme I and cause niacin deficiency, so it is advisable to supplement niacin or niacinamide in appropriate amounts when taking isoniazid. 2 Niacin and vasodilators should not be used together. 3 If you are taking other medicines, please consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
