Function and Efficacy

It has the effect of inhibiting the production of prostaglandins in experimental ocular inflammation (rabbits) and has anti-inflammatory effects on various experimental conjunctivitis such as allergic conjunctivitis, acute conjunctivitis and persistent conjunctivitis (rats).

Usage and Dosage

Take 1-2 drops each time, 4 times a day. The frequency can be increased or decreased according to the symptoms.

Adverse Reactions

Of the 5,843 patients surveyed for efficacy, 79 experienced ocular side effects. The incidence rates were 0.1-5% for irritation, conjunctival hyperemia, itching, eyelid redness, swelling, blepharitis, and discharge; the incidence rates were less than 0.1% for tearing, diffuse superficial keratitis, foreign body sensation, and conjunctival edema.

Precautions

Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to propranolol are contraindicated.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: The safety of the drug for premature infants, newborns and infants has not been determined (lack of experience). Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The safety of the drug for pregnant and lactating women has not been confirmed, and animal experiments (rats) have found that it delays delivery. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant and lactating women can only use the drug when it is determined that the benefits of the drug outweigh the risks. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
